Stockton-on-Tees is one of the largest and most varied towns we cover, running from the riverside town centre and the wide High Street out through Norton, Fairfield, Bishopsgarth, Hardwick, Roseworth and Oxbridge, to the newer developments towards Elm Tree and Bluehall. That variety means the roofing work here spans everything from Victorian bay-fronted terraces near the High Street to 1960s council-built semis in Hardwick and Roseworth, and modern estate housing further out.

We work across the whole borough rather than just the town centre, and we quote each job on the property in front of us rather than a generic Stockton price, because a bay-roofed Victorian terrace off Yarm Lane and a 1970s semi in Fairfield need genuinely different approaches.

Stockton sits on the A19 and A66, close to Thornaby, Ingleby Barwick, Eaglescliffe and Yarm, and only a short run from our base in Middlesbrough. We are in Stockton and the surrounding postcodes regularly, so parking on the terraced streets near the High Street or access to larger driveways in Fairfield and Norton is something we plan for before the day, not on it.

For anyone in the TS18, TS19 or TS20 postcodes calling us, that local knowledge means fewer surprises about street layout, on-street parking permits or narrow back lanes, and a more accurate quote as a result.

The town centre and areas like Hartburn and Norton Green have a mix of Victorian and Edwardian terraces and villas, many with decorative bargeboards, bay roofs and slated coverings that are now well over a century old. Roseworth, Hardwick and parts of Portrack have large amounts of 1950s–1960s council-built housing with concrete interlocking tile roofs, many of which are now on their second or third covering.

Further out, Fairfield, Bishopsgarth, Elm Tree and the newer developments towards Bluehall and Wynyard's edge have 1980s–2000s detached and semi-detached housing with straightforward hipped or gabled roofs, generally in good structural condition but increasingly showing ridge and verge wear as they pass the 25–30 year mark.

On the Victorian terraces near the town centre and Hartburn we mostly deal with bay roof repairs, chimney re-pointing, and lead flashing renewal at party walls, where old lead has perished and lets water track down into upstairs rooms. On the 1950s–1960s council-built stock in Roseworth and Hardwick, we regularly find roofs that need full re-covering or significant dry verge and dry ridge work after decades of mortar bedding has cracked.

In Fairfield, Bishopsgarth and the newer estates, the calls are more often for guttering that has started to sag or overflow, roofline boards that need replacing after years of exposure, and the occasional slipped tile after a storm rolling in off the North Sea.
